Wetlands
Zilzie Bay residents and visitors will be the beneficiaries of a supreme master plan that led to the capture of large volumes of water during recent flooding rain.
All deep-water lakes, wetlands and other water storage areas on the 447ha lifestyle estate are now full to capacity.
They will provide not only an incredible future irrigation source but also a natural haven for an array of birdlife.
“This is what we were waiting for, a proper wet season,” said developer Chris Dadson.
“Providing wildlife sanctuaries was always a real feature of our design blueprint.
“And now Zilzie Bay can truly become not only a home, but also a breeding ground for families of brolgas, black swans, jabirus and emus.
“We’ve got enough water for five years. It doesn’t get any better than this.”
The construction of a number of incredibly deep-water dams is testament to the vision of developer Chris Dadson and his team of consultants.
As well as helping the planet, being green is good for business, according to Mr Dadson.
“People are realising what a precious resource water is and that environments with waterways are very valuable in creating quality of life and addressing sustainability issues.
“And they are willing to pay a premium to live in more environmentally friendly surroundings and in well-maintained estates in order to live in harmony with nature. These are vital ingredients that also sustain capital growth.”
Providing a secure and clean environment with superb facilities in which to live and play is what sets Zilzie Bay apart.
From inception there was an emphasis on preserving and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the lifestyle estate.
A number of environmental experts were called in during design and construction to ensure compliance with the principals of Environmental Best Practice.
The rapidly emerging world-first golf course, particularly holes on the front nine, are influenced by a system of lakes that double as feature water hazards.
These sparkling lakes are rich in biodiversity and already support a growing population of the famed barramundi.
Fairway contouring on the golf course has been engineered in such a way that stormwater flows into approximately 8ha of lakes – all interconnected.
Water then passes through the filtration system and flows out generally cleaner than when it arrived.
