“Sunrise” judged best display home in Queensland

1149210051.jpg The dream home at the Great Barrier Reef International Resort has dramatically widened its appeal after being chosen the best new display home in Queensland.

Winning the prestigious Master Builders state award, presented in Brisbane at a glamorous function on Friday 14th Oct, created several precedents.

It not only cemented the lifestyle estate at Zilzie as the premier address on the Capricorn Coast, It also profiled Central Queensland as a centre of building excellence, with industry records indicating that the region has never before been successful in this prestigious category.

The double-storey home, known as “Sunrise”, has created considerable interest since being opened to the public four weeks ago.

Up to 300 people per day are inspecting the luxurious home that overlooks the 18th fairway of the Wayne Grady designed golf course.

One of the most talked about features of the interior design has been the home movie theatre with plush red carpets and reclining leather chairs.

Another eye-catcher is the master bedroom and en-suite with unique reverse shower to allow commanding views across the fairways to a host of Great Barrier Reef islands.

While marbled floors, vaulted ceilings, hand-carved teak tables and unrivalled entertaining areas including a cabana and tiled infinity swimming pool add plenty more in the way of wow factor.

The overall quality of Sunrise first saw it win the Master Builders regional final presented at Gladstone early in September.

Great Barrier Reef International Resort developer Chris Dadson said the home demonstrated the value of good planning and attention to detail.

"What obviously impressed the judges was not only the home’s overall quality but also its innovative and functional design,” Mr Dadson said.

“But it also shows the importance of matching the home to the site, and we have one of the best coastal locations in Queensland.

The Great Barrier Reef International Resort is a $1.2 billion residential and golf course community being undertaken by developer Chris Dadson, the managing director of Great Barrier Reef International Resort Pty Ltd.

1149207949.jpg All homes on the estate must meet set standards that assist in protecting everyone’s investment and ensure that all buildings add to the overall streetscape appeal.

And every home site at The Great Barrier Reef International Resort is also within easy reach of the impressive $12 million clubhouse that is rapidly nearing completion.

Mr Dadson said the development was ideal for those seeking a relaxed and healthy lifestyle close to the beach, while still in close proximity to Rockhampton – the region’s thriving capital.

“The development delivers an unparalleled lifestyle investment,” he said.

“The lifestyle on offer in such a wonderful setting has proven to be appealing to a variety of people, which is terrific as it isn’t limiting the opportunity to golfers alone.”

The Great Barrier Reef International Resort master plan includes a double-story clubhouse, swimming pools, tennis courts, shopping centres, three beachfront resorts with restaurants, bars & recreation facilities, health & sports club, a retirement resort, a recreational lake, sports fields, cinemas and even a bowling alley.

All facilities are within walking distance of 6.8km of pristine beachfront.
