"I don’t know if there’s such a thing anywhere else in Australia ". Opposite Great Keppel Island – which is visible from every
hole – along sand dunes and past eight hectares of interlinked man-made lakes, the first 12 holes of Lakeside Links have been completed and seeded with imported Velveteen grass that will withstand onshore winds and provide a smoother playing surface than available on any other coastal course in Australia.
Lakeside Links is to be a major attraction of a planned $1.2 billion residential, resort and golf centre that will be a major tourist attraction of a planned bigger than Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island on completion in ten to twelve years. The golfcourse will be complete by early 2005.
Lakeside Links is designed to be a major tournament site complete with a doublestory clubhose and conference facility capable of handling 250 persons. Future developments will include nearby private apartments for players, a golfing academy, and a nine-hole floodlit course for night golf. All will link to the tournament course by boardwalk.
