A FORMER Nike (USA) employee Julie Sevier has joined the Zilzie Bay team to build on the growing reputation of the award-winning Reef Palms golf resort near Rockhampton. The Reef Palms golf course is being created at the resort township of Zilzie Bay, alongside the Great Barrier Reef marine park and is the world’s first synthetic grass golf course. American Sevier was appointed in early June to a role involving sourcing and co-ordinating all promotions and events. The Reef Palms building is fast becoming a premier entertainment and function centre in central Queensland with the $14 million complex recently taking out the Morning Bulletin “Best in the Business” award. “I love a challenge and it’s great to be working with such a revolutionary project,” Sevier said. “Reef Palms is actually changing the face of golf and I’m excited to be involved with that.”
