Night Golf at Zilzie Bay
Night golf is just another attraction for visitors to enjoy at the Reef palms Golf & Leisure complex. Over the past two months they have been rolling out their social golf activities including the Super Putt Putt challenge, 9 hole chip ‘n’ putt & practice greens.
“The Super putt course has been extremely popular since we opened on Dec 14th,” said Rita Dadson. “We have had large groups of people of all ages
enjoying the facility, that’s the great thing about Super putt it’s an activity the whole family can enjoy together and have a lot of fun in a beautiful setting.” We had a family group that had travelled from all over the state to enjoy Christmas together here, they said it was the most fun they had enjoyed since they arrived on the coast and came back a second time.”
Reef Palms have also opened the resort pool to diners in the Bay restaurant. “We are finding that people are coming here just for lunch and end up spending the day, because there are now so many activities to enjoy while they’re here. They can work out in the gym, have a social game of golf or simply have a delicious lunch followed by a nice relax in the resort pool. There is even a massage service available.”
Chris Dadson said it was important that the coast provides facilities to keep visitors occupied whilst they are here. “With the closure of Keppel Island and other activities on the coast, operators have to make sure we provide quality facilities to ensure visitors leave the Capricorn Coast having enjoyed their time here
New Years Eve will mark the turning on of the floodlights on the Reef Palms 9 hole golf course. To mark this special event Reef Palms will be hosting a special Reef & Beef Buffet on the top deck of the multi award winning complex to showcase the floodlit course. Diners will be the first to see the beautiful panorama of Reef Palms golf course floodlit at night, along with a disco Karaoke & drinks on the deck. Bus transfers are also available with the brand new Zilzie Bay bus. “We want people to enjoy their experience here and not worry about drinking & driving”. Said Mr Dadson.
Reef Palms night course is going to be a huge hit with the local community. “We have been in-undated with enquiries from people waiting for the course to open. It has taken a long time to perfect the greens and tees and we are currently in the process of spreading the fairways with high quality organic fertilizers to bring on their growth.” “It has taken a long time to perfect the system, to get a 100% perfect playing surface. We have been into a research & development program with the federal government to come up with a sustainable solution for golf.” Mr Dadson commented. “What a fantastic way to relax & unwind in the cool summer evening breeze after a hot day at work. We even have shower & locker facilities available.”
Membership registrations will soon be available for gym & golf packages. These will include discounted rates for the restaurant and all Reef Palms facilities.
Zilzie Bay has also purchased a courtesy bus for group bookings of social golfers that want to come have a round of golf, dine in the restaurant and have a few drinks without worrying about driving. Transfers are also available to various accommodation places along the coast.
All greens & tees are complete for the nine hole floodlit course. The fairways have been aerated, top soiled and fertilizing has commenced. “I have been advised by several high ranking golfing professionals not to open the course before the fairways are established. The greens and tees are up to a very high standard and I want to make sure that the fairways are equally as good. I don’t people to have a negative experience by playing the course before it is ready. We are very close and this wet season will enhance the growth of the grass significantly, it’s perfect timing.” Commented Chris Dadson
